MANSEHRA: Three people, including a woman and her young son, were killed, while five others sustained critical injuries when a car plunged into a deep ravine in the Datta area here on Friday.
“The police, with the help of residents, shifted all eight injured members of a family to a health facility, where doctors pronounced three of them dead,” a police press release said.The vehicle, carrying eight people, was returning to Ghazikot Township, a remote village, when the driver lost control while negotiating a sharp turn at high speed.
As a result, the car skidded off the road and fell into a deep ravine.Police and locals retrieved the injured and shifted them to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, where doctors pronounced Sania Mirza (25), Shahzadi Tahir (40), and her five-year-old son Hassan Tahir dead.
The injured, including Hameeda Bibi, Rani Gul, Faiza Tahir, Tahir Aslam, and Manoor Tahir were later referred to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital, Abbottabad, where their condition was stated to be stable.The Saddar Police Station registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
