LAHORE:Police solved amystery of a kidnapping case of a young man from the Kahna area, arresting the accused and recovering the victim’s body from Gujrat, SP Investigation Model Town Dr Ayaz Hussain announced at a press conference at Gulberg police station on Monday.
The SP said the investigation team, led by the In-charge Investigation Kahna police station, conducted an operation and arrested the suspect from Faisalabad. The accused was then taken to Gujrat, where he revealed the location where he had buried the victim’s body.
According to the SP, the victim, Aqeedat Ali and the accused were close friends. The victim had travelled to Gujrat to meet the suspect, who shot and killed him over a personal grudge.‘After committing the murder, the accused dug a pit in a deserted area and buried the body there,’ the SP explained. The suspect then attempted to flee abroad but was apprehended.’
The SP said the arrest was made through the use of modern technology. Police also recovered the murder weapon. The SP added the investigation team worked efficiently to trace the suspect and solve what initially appeared to be a kidnapping case but was later confirmed as a pre-planned murder.
