LAHORE:A suspected robber was killed in an alleged police encounter in Kahna area while his two accomplices managed to escape.

Crime Control Department (CCD) team had set up a checkpost near Gajjumata drain in Kahna when they signaled three motorcycle-riding suspects to stop. Instead of complying, the suspects opened fire on police.

In retaliatory fire, one suspect was killed on the spot while the other two managed to flee the scene. Police have shifted the body of the deceased to a hospital for post-mortem examination and established checkpoints in the area to apprehend the fleeing suspects. Police identified the deceased as Hasnain, a resident of Pakpattan, who was allegedly involved in various crimes. Authorities launched a search operation to arrest his accomplices. The CCD team has cordoned off the area and begun investigations to trace the escaped suspects.
