Al-Khidmat sets up monsoon rescue cell

LAHORE: In anticipation of the upcoming monsoon rains and to mitigate any potential natural calamities or urban flooding, Al-Khidmat Foundation Lahore has established a state-of-the-art ‘Monsoon (Disaster) Rescue Cell’ in the Gulberg area.

The facility was jointly inaugurated by the Patron of Al-Khidmat Foundation Lahore, Zia-ud-Din Ansari Advocate, and President Al-Khidmat Foundation Lahore, Engineer Hammad Rashid. Following the inauguration, President Engineer Hammad Rashid briefed the patron and other key officials regarding the emergency response protocols, rescue machinery, and strategic deployment lines.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Khalid Ahmed Butt, Executive Director of Al-Khidmat Foundation Mughees Shahid Qureshi, and Deputy Secretaries of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, including Amer Nisar Khan, Qaiser Sharif, and Shahid Naveed Malik. Prominent leaders Mian Usman Afzal, Amer Noor Khan, alongside the operational staff and dedicated volunteers of the Al-Khidmat Rescue Cell, were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Patron Al-Khidmat Foundation Lahore, Zia-ud-Din Ansari Advocate, underscored that Al-Khidmat Foundation has always been at the forefront of serving the residents of Lahore during testing times. He highlighted that despite operating with limited resources, Al-Khidmat Foundation continues to set unprecedented benchmarks in public welfare and disaster management.
