Bajaur operation: Families of martyred, injured civilians get relief cheques

KHAR: Cheques were distributed among the families of 17 martyred and 40 injured persons during the recent operation in the Mamond tehsil of Bajaur district.

Officials said that member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Dr Hameedur Rehman, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Bajaur, Shahid Ali, distributed the cheques among the affected families at a ceremony held in the Civil Colony. The event was attended by the victims’ families and district administration officials.

Speaking on the occasion, officials said that the provincial government was continuing its support for the affected families in line with the announcement and commitments made by the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They added that cases of some martyrs and injured persons that were still pending due to procedural reasons would also be processed, and the provision of special assistance packages to them would be ensured at the earliest.Addressing the ceremony, the MPA said that the government stood with the families of the martyrs in their grief and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
