LAHORE:The Chief Minister Athletes Cards will be distributed among Sports Endowment Fund scholarship-winning athletes in July. This initiative has been designed to provide financial assistance and encouragement to talented athletes. Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazalur Rehman said this while chairing a meeting at the Punjab Stadium on Thursday.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Youth Affairs Punjab said that Punjab government is fully committed to supporting athletes and encouraging them to achieve excellence in their respective sports. “Various initiatives are being undertaken in line with the vision of CM Punjab to ensure the growth and advancement of sports in the province”.
He said that under the Sports Endowment Fund scheme, the athletes will receive monthly financial assistance according to their category. “A scholarship of Rs100,000 will be awarded to Platinum Category athletes, Rs75,000 to Gold Category athletes and Rs50,000 to Silver Category athletes”.
