PRA collected over Rs33bn in May

LAHORE:Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) continues to make significant progress towards achieving the highest tax revenue collection in the province's history. A meeting to review monthly revenue targets was chaired by PRA Chairman, Moazzam Iqbal Sipra.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that PRA recorded an impressive growth in May 2026, collecting more than Rs33.7 billion in tax revenue compared to Rs27 billion collected during the same month last year. The chairman informed participants that PRA had collected over Rs319 billion during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, compared to Rs231.7 billion during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. This reflects an increase of more than Rs87 billion in revenue collection with a growth of 38%. Chairman Sipra stated that the establishment of PRA offices in additional districts, in line with the directions of the chief minister, along with strengthened enforcement activities, has yielded positive results. He added that the development of a digital database and continuous monitoring of tax defaulters have played a key role in enhancing revenue collection across the province. All commissioners and other officers from across Punjab participated in the meeting via a video link and reviewed progress against their respective revenue targets.
