LAHORE:The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has expanded its digital surveillance network across the province under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Safe Punjab” initiative to strengthen security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

It will also offer direct connectivity with Emergency-15, along with live chat and video call facilities linked to Safe City Control Rooms.

The spokesperson said smart surveillance, geo-mapping and integrated command systems are already operational to monitor majalis, processions and sensitive locations in real time.Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab Abdul Karim said ensuring peace and security during Muharram remains the top priority. PSCA Managing Director Ahsan Younas said the QR-based system would enhance emergency response and coordination across the province.
