Rawalpindi:Rising inflation, excessive taxation, high business costs and deteriorating law and order have pushed the business community into serious difficulty, Zahid Bakhtawari, Divisional President of the Central Organisation of Traders Rawalpindi (Registered), warned, says a press release.
He said the community would be forced to protest if the upcoming budget imposed further burdens on traders. “No kind of lockdown or reduction in business hours for traders is acceptable. The government should immediately withdraw the notification,” he said.
An emergency meeting of the Central Organisation of Traders Rawalpindi Division (Registered) was held at its central office, attended by office-bearers and presidents and general secretaries of more than 60 markets in Rawalpindi Cantonment.Participants strongly rejected the announcement of new taxes in the budget and opposed restrictions such as limited business hours and lockdowns.
