Islamabad:The Embassy of Denmark in Islamabad hosted a two-day showcasing and dialogue event on Sustainable Water Resource Management on 3-4 June as part of its efforts to initiate a potential partnership between Denmark and Pakistan in the water sector, says a press release.

The event brought together representatives from Pakistani government institutions, academia, research organisations, development partners, and Danish technical experts to exchange knowledge and explore opportunities for future cooperation in groundwater management, hydrogeological mapping, and sustainable water use.

The Danish delegation included experts from Aarhus University and TEMcompany ApS, who presented Danish experiences and technical approaches related to groundwater mapping, satellite-based analysis, geophysical technologies, and integrated water resource management.

Designed as a dialogue-oriented platform, the event prioritised Pakistani perspectives and sector priorities, allowing stakeholders to share key challenges, policy considerations, and institutional needs related to water resource management.

Opening the event, Maja Derrous Mortensen, Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan, highlighted the importance of equal partnerships and locally driven cooperation.

The second day featured a live field demonstration of Danish geophysical equipment, offering participants practical insight into subsurface mapping technologies and their potential application within Pakistan’s hydrogeological context.
