Foreign secretary, Wafaqi Mohtasib discuss problems of overseas Pakistanis

Islamabad:The Foreign Secretary, Amna Baloch called on the Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman), Naveed Kamran Baloch in his office here today and exchanged views with him on matters pertaining to the Overseas Pakistani community, says a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, the Wafaqi Mohtasib said that Overseas Pakistanis are our precious asset and as such his office accords a high priority to early resolution of their problems and facilitation of the Pakistani diaspora. ‘Our commitment to their cause may be judged from the fact that there is a full-fledged office of Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistani in the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat dedicated to expeditious resolution of the problems being faced by the Overseas Pakistani community’, he observed. On the initiative of the Wafaqi Mohtasib, each Pakistani Mission abroad has appointed a focal person for prompt action and these have been instructed to allocate one day in a week for meeting with Overseas Pakistanis to redress their grievances, said the Mohtasib.

The Foreign Secretary said that Pakistani Missions abroad are playing an important role in this regard and assured that Mohtasib Office’s instructions will be implemented in letter and spirit.
