LAHORE:The province-wide sewerage cleaning and desilting campaign has achieved 95 per cent of its targets, with efforts underway to complete the remaining work before the monsoon season.

Additional DG Operations Sohail Qadir Cheema and MD Wasa Lahore Ghufran Ahmed were also present. Officials said the campaign, launched across all 41 districts on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, had improved drainage efficiency in various cities.
Mr Mengal appreciated Wasa staff for achieving targets ahead of schedule and directed them to complete the remaining work within the next two weeks. He also instructed officers to ensure active field supervision and keep all machinery operational.
He said the large-scale campaign was aimed at reducing urban flooding risks during the monsoon and urged citizens to avoid dumping garbage into drains and sewer lines. The secretary also directed authorities to promptly address sewerage-related complaints and said strict monitoring of the campaign would continue until completion.
