Echocardiography machine donated to LGH

Lahore:A state-of-the-art echocardiography machine, donated by philanthropists, has been installed in the Pulmonology Department of Lahore General Hospital (LGH).

The facility will significantly enhance the timely and accurate diagnosis of heart and respiratory diseases for both adult and pediatric patients. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Principal of Amiruddin Medical College & PGMI, Prof Dr Farooq Afzal, said that under the CM’s vision, continuous efforts are being made to upgrade facilities at LGH.

He added that the installation of this new echocardiography machine will not only provide prompt diagnostic services to patients but will also greatly improve the training standards for postgraduate trainees and young doctors.

He described philanthropists as a precious asset to Pakistan, saying their contributions will benefit thousands of patients.LGH MS Prof Dr Faryad Hussain stated that revolutionary steps are underway to make LGH more patient-friendly.

He highlighted that this new machine would equally benefit children and adults, bringing all modern diagnostic facilities under one roof. Head of Pulmonology Department Prof Dr Javed Magsi highlighted the importance of echocardiography as a key diagnostic tool for heart and lung conditions.

He added that the availability of this advanced machine will ensure quicker relief for patients and better treatment outcomes. Prof Dr Farooq Afzal directed the hospital administration to treat the donated machine as a public trust.

He said complete transparency in its usage, maintenance, repair, and record-keeping and instructed that the equipment be immediately entered into the official stock register. He further directed that maximum training opportunities on the machine be provided to young doctors and postgraduate trainees so that no patient faces any difficulty in the diagnostic process.

The ceremony was attended by Dr Houria Rehman, Dr Naeem Akhtar, Dr Rabia Abbas, Dr Javed, Dr Faisal, Dr Abdul Aziz, Dr Sundas, Dr Sanam, nursing officers, young doctors, medical students and Qasim Mayo.
