LAHORE:The officers of Punjab Sports Department have been directed to expedite the preparations of upcoming Chief Minister Punjab Schools Games. The progress of schools games and other sports programmes will be reviewed every Monday.
Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab issued these directions while presiding over a meeting at the Punjab Stadium on Monday.DG Sports Punjab Tariq Qureshi, Additional Secretary Sports Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Director Sports Chand Perveen, Director Youth Affairs M Fahad and other senior sports officers attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports Punjab has directed the officials concerned to complete the sports development schemes before June 30. He said that the obstacles in sports development schemes are being resolved.
He said that CM Punjab has declared 2026 as the year of youth. “An Annual Sports Calendar has also been prepared to provide maximum opportunities to the youth to demonstrate their sports skills adequately”. He said that Punjab Sports Department is utilising all resources to attract the youth towards healthy activities. “Under the Annual Sports Calendar, the sports competitions are being organised every month across the province”.
