Affordability

Petrol prices have crossed a point where daily travel itself feels unaffordable. For students, office-goers and small traders who depend on two-wheelers and public transport, every hike cuts directly into household budgets already stretched by inflation. While global markets play a role, the lack of relief on local taxes and margins makes the burden heavier than it needs to be.

People are reducing travel, delaying work and cutting back on essentials just to manage fuel costs. I urge the government to review the tax structure and provide more targeted relief to low and middle-income commuters. Energy policy should protect mobility, not make it a luxury.
