LAHORE : Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has announced temporary relief for loader rickshaws transporting sacrificial animals ahead of Eidul Azha, allowing them limited access to Canal Road.

According to the CTO, the permission will remain valid only until Eidul Azha and will apply exclusively to loader rickshaws carrying sacrificial animals. He said the vehicles would be allowed to use Canal Road under prescribed traffic regulations, while operations against other loader rickshaws and Qingqi rickshaws would continue without interruption.

The CTO clarified that only those loader rickshaws transporting sacrificial animals would be permitted on the route. Shirazi warned that legal action would also be taken against animal transport rickshaws if they violated lane discipline or other traffic rules. He further stated that loader rickshaws carrying T-irons, steel rods, bamboo or other construction material would remain strictly prohibited from using Canal Road.
