Five suspects arrested in assault offences

LAHORE : The Operations Wing of Lahore Police has arrested five suspects in separate incidents during the past 24 hours in actions against individuals allegedly involved in sexual offences, according to a press release issued on Saturday. In the first incident, Shadbagh Police arrested three suspects — identified as Sahil, Arman, and Waleed — for allegedly attempting to assault an 11-year-old boy. A case has been registered and legal proceedings have been initiated against three suspects.

In a separate incident, South Cantt Police arrested a suspect, Nauman, for allegedly assaulting a 7-year-old boy. A case has been registered at the South Cantt Police Station.

Meanwhile, Factory Area Police arrested a suspect, Azad Ashraf, for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a 16-year-old girl. A case has also been registered against the suspect.

All arrested suspects have been handed over to the Investigation Wing for further legal action. Police added that raids are ongoing in Kahna and Ghalib Market areas to arrest suspects involved in other sexual assault cases.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran stated that Lahore Police is following a zero-tolerance policy against individuals involved in serious crimes, adding that steps are being taken to ensure timely arrests and strict legal action.
