LAHORE : Housing and Urban Development Minister Bilal Yasin has instructed the Wasa Punjab DG to keep all machinery, workforce, and field teams on full alert. He emphasised that field teams must remain active to protect citizens from foul smell, unhygienic conditions, and water accumulation. During Eid-ul-Azha, the best possible drainage arrangements and uninterrupted water supply for citizens will be ensured at all costs, he added.
He issued these directions while chairing a meeting regarding Wasa preparations for Eid-ul-Azha on Saturday.
Wasa Vice Chairman Chaudhry Shehbaz, DG Wasa Punjab Tayyab Fareed and all managing directors participated in the meeting through video link.
It was decided to ensure the presence of field officers during Eid days and to maintain strict attendance. On the directions of CM Punjab, the duration of water supply across the province will be extended during Eid-ul-Azha.
Provincial minister directed all cities to complete arrangements in advance for drainage, sewerage, and rainwater disposal.
He stated that strict action would be ensured against those throwing sacrificial animal waste into drains. It was also decided to deploy special teams at important locations, densely populated areas, and low-lying areas.
