LAHORE : A former news editor of The News, passed away early Thursday in Islamabad after suffering heart failure. He was 54.
Known among colleagues by his nickname ‘Gudda’, Atif Mateen worked for The News, Lahore, from 1991 to 2002. Colleagues remember him as a jovial and supportive fellow.
He is survived by his wife and two sons. He was the younger brother of senior journalist.His funeral prayer was offered at the H-8 Graveyard in Islamabad on Thursday.
