KARACHI: The official trailer launch ceremony of the upcoming Pakistani film Psycho, scheduled for release on Eid-ul-Azha, was held in Karachi with the participation of the film’s cast, prominent showbiz personalities and members of the film fraternity. The red carpet event was marked by flashing cameras, glamour and a strong presence of stars from the entertainment industry. Veteran actor Shaan Shahid, who arrived in Karachi for a film promotion after almost a decade, was among the key highlights of the evening. Actress Sonya Hussyn and the film’s producer and lead actress Meera also addressed the audience and added charm to the event with their remarks. The newly launched trailer, packed with suspense, thrill, action and adventure, kept the audience engaged throughout. With its unique subject, powerful cast and gripping storyline, the film is being described by film circles as a fresh cinematic experience for Pakistani audiences. Speaking on the occasion, Shaan said that the local film industry had been producing similar kinds of films for a long time, and he wanted to work on a project based on a different subject so that audiences could have a new choice. Sonya Hussyn said working with Shaan and Meera had been a memorable experience for her. She added that after watching the film, audiences would feel that they had truly witnessed a strong cinematic presentation. Meera, in her signature style, invited filmgoers to watch Psycho on Eid-ul-Azha. She said she had seen a dream which now appeared to be turning into reality. It is worth mentioning that Geo Films has previously presented several notable Pakistani films, including Khuda Kay Liye, Bol, Teefa in Trouble, The Legend of Maula Jatt, The Donkey King and The Glassworker.
