The district and sessions judge (South) has approved a request by DIG South Syed Asad Raza to shift the court proceedings of alleged drug kingpin Anmol alias Pinky to the Judicial Complex inside the Central Prison Karachi due to security concerns.

Officials said the decision was taken in view of the sensitive nature of the case and fears of a possible law and order situation if the accused was produced at the City Courts. Pinky is facing prosecution in three high-profile cases, and her appearance at the heavily crowded City Courts was considered a major security risk. Following a security assessment, the DIG South formally requested the court to relocate the proceedings to the Central Jail Complex.

According to the order issued by District and Sessions Judge South Zahoor Ahmed Hakro, the investigating officer, SIP/IO Rashid Nazeer of the Baghdadi police station, sought permission to produce the accused before the IXth Judicial Magistrate at the Central Jail Complex for remand proceedings in FIR No. 147/2026 registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The court order stated that the investigating officer informed the court that although the remand proceedings were pending before the VIIth Judicial Magistrate Karachi South, there were apprehensions of a breach of peace and possible disturbance to public safety if the accused was brought to the City Courts.

The order further noted that hundreds of cases are heard daily at the City Courts, where a large number of litigants, lawyers, judges and court staff remain present, making security management difficult in sensitive cases.

The judge directed the VIIth Judicial Magistrate

Karachi South to hold the remand proceedings at the court of the IXth Judicial Magistrate located inside the Central Jail Complex instead of the City Courts.

The order pertains to accused Anmol alias Pinky, daughter of Murad Bux and wife of Rana Nasir, in FIR No. 147/2026 registered at the Baghdadi police station. Copies of the order were sent to the concerned judicial magistrates and the investigating officer for compliance.
