PESHAWAR: The Contractors Association Peshawar District on Monday expressed reservations over the tendering process in the Communication and Works (C&W) Department and demanded the restoration of the e-system across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing a press conference, Association President Niazullah Barki alleged widespread corruption and favoritism in the awarding of contracts.
He alleged that tender conditions were designed to exclude competent contractors, while contracts were allegedly awarded to preferred firms.
The association demanded implementation of the Pakistan Engineering Council bidding document 2024, annual revision of market schedules in line with inflation, and timely release of project funds.
The speakers called for inquiries into alleged irregularities in various departments, including C&W, the Peshawar Development Authority, Irrigation, and Local Government institutions.
