PESHAWAR: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) organised a big rally in Peshawar under the banner of “Marka-e-Haq” that drew a large number of party workers and supporters, who expressed solidarity with the armed forces and reaffirmed support for democratic values.
Led by PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa former president Syed Zahir Ali Shah, the rally started from Old Haji Camp on GT Road and passed through various parts of the city before culminating at the residence of Malik Amjad Awan, where a public gathering was hosted.
Addressing participants, former PPP city chapter president Zulfiqar Afghani, Gohar Inqalabi, Malik Tamas Khan, Malik Amjad Awan and Shah Rukh Duranpur described the rally as a reflection of national unity, patriotism and public confidence in democratic institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Zahir Ali Shah said the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces and martyrs had strengthened the country’s security, stability and defence.
He said Pakistan had faced several internal and external challenges in the past but successfully overcame them through national unity, public support and a strong defence strategy.
Enumerating the services of party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, he said the country’s defence was secure and the nation stood alongside its armed forces.
