LAHORE: Rwanda offers Pakistani businesses a gateway to the 300 million-consumer East African market and presents significant opportunities for investment, trade and industrial collaboration, Rwanda’s High Commissioner Harerimana Fatou said on Monday.

Speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), she said Rwanda was among Africa’s most business-friendly economies, with zero tolerance for corruption, strong investment protection and attractive incentives for foreign investors.

She encouraged Pakistani businesses to visit Rwanda and explore opportunities in manufacturing, processing industries and special economic zones.

The High Commissioner said Rwanda was seeking long-term partnerships with Pakistan and invited the Lahore Chamber to participate in the Pakistan-Rwanda Business Forum scheduled to be held in Kigali in September 2026.

She added that Pakistan’s expertise in textiles, packaging, value addition and logistics aligned closely with the needs of Rwanda’s growing economy under its Vision 2050 development agenda.

LCCI President Faheemur Rehman Saigol congratulated the High Commissioner on receiving the ‘Global Ambassador 2025’ award from the Diplomatic Insight Group.

He said bilateral trade between Pakistan and Rwanda was growing steadily, although considerable untapped potential remained.

Saigol added that Pakistani universities offered quality and affordable education in medical sciences, engineering, business management and information technology, which could benefit Rwandan students.
