LAHORE: Liaquatabad police claimed to have arrested a man for allegedly making a false emergency call to seize a van amid a financial dispute.
The suspect, identified as Mushtaq, attempted to stage a fake robbery incident by placing a false call to the Police Helpline 15.
Police said the accused had a monetary dispute with the owner of a van and attempted to take possession of the vehicle through deception.
The suspect informed police that unidentified thieves had stolen the van near the Old Vegetable Market and fled the scene.
However, during initial investigation, the accused failed to mislead investigators and confessed to fabricating the incident, police added.
Police registered a case against the suspect and recovered the van from his possession.
