ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday congratulated the nation on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, marking one year since a decisive response was given to Indian aggression by Pakistan’s armed forces and citizens, which elevated the country’s defence standing globally.

In a statement, the party paid tribute to Pakistan’s defence institutions, particularly the Pakistan Air Force. It said, “We salute the fearless eagles of the Pakistan Air Force, who shot down six enemy warplanes and set a historic example of professionalism.”

The party also honoured the sacrifices of martyrs from the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force, stating that their contributions would be remembered with pride. It further credited its founding chairman Imran Khan, currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail, for a vision that strengthened national defence.

Quoting Imran Khan, the statement said: “The army is also mine and the country is also mine.”

However, the PTI added that the day also served as a reminder of “thousands of political workers and leaders” who remain imprisoned, including Imran Khan. The party expressed concern over the absence of legislation ensuring the right of appeal in high courts for those convicted by military courts, despite Supreme Court directives, calling it a matter of constitutional concern.

It stressed that genuine national unity could only be achieved through an end to political victimisation, restoration of constitutional supremacy, full implementation of court orders, and release of political prisoners. The party also emphasised the importance of press freedom and freedom of expression as essential pillars of a strong state.

Separately, in Rawalpindi, Allama Agha Syed Hussain Muqaddasi, Chief of Tehreek Nifaz Fiqah Jafaria (TNFJ), described Marka-e-Haq as a historic chapter in Pakistan’s defence history and ideological strength.

He termed the alliance of Zionism and Hindutva a threat to global peace and praised Pakistan’s armed forces for their performance in the ‘Battle of Truth’, attributing success to divine support and military capability.

Muqaddasi urged authorities to strengthen national security and eliminate elements allegedly supported from abroad. Speaking at a prayer ceremony at Jamia Masjid Ahl-e-Bait, he also condemned the recent attack on the Fateh Khel police post in Bannu, calling it a “cowardly act of terrorism” and an attempt by hostile forces to undermine Pakistan after defeat.
