GUJRANWALA: An accused was killed in an encounter in the limits of Gakhar Mandi police station.According to the police, Sajid was wanted in several cases of robbery, drugs and attempted murder. During the operation, the accused’s accomplices allegedly opened fire on the police team. As a result, Sajid was hit by a bullet and died on the spot, while his accomplices managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Illegal weapons were also recovered from the scene. CPO Dr Sardar Ghias Gul Khan said operations against criminal elements would continue untill peace is ensured in society.
DBA ANNOUNCES STRIKE AFTER CLASH BETWEEN TRAFFIC POLICE, LAWYERS: Tension escalated between traffic police and lawyers following an incident in which a young lawyer was issued a challan, leading the District Bar Association to announce a complete strike.
DSP Traffic Malik Zeeshan stopped the lawyer for having a non-standard number plate and issued a fine of Rs5,000, during which an argument broke out. The lawyer later alleged disrespectful behaviour in front of his family and informed District Bar Association Secretary Haq Nawaz Hanjra. Subsequently, a heated exchange occurred between lawyers and the DSP. Police later registered a case against DBA Secretary Haq Nawaz Hanjra and others on the complaint of the DSP Traffic. The District Bar Association announced a complete strike and demanded the suspension of the DSP.
