South Zone Police on Thursday continued their crackdown against illegal sheesha cafes, guest houses, and immoral activities, arresting 23 suspects during multiple raids conducted in different areas of Defense House Authority.
According to police officials, acting on secret information, the police carried out raids in Clifton, Boat Basin, Darakhshan, and Gizri, targeting several illegal sheesha cafes. During the operations, authorities recovered sheesha pipes, flavours, and other related items.
The Boat Basin police arrested three suspects during a raid in Clifton Block-5 and recovered seven sheesha pipes. Meanwhile, the Clifton and Darakhshan police arrested nine suspects in separate operations and seized a large quantity of sheesha-related material.
In additional raids against illegal guest houses and sheesha cafes, Darakhshan and Gizri police arrested 11 suspects, including seven men and four women. The police said one of the arrested women was also found involved in supplying “ice” (crystal methamphetamine) at dance parties. Cases had been registered against all the arrested suspects, while further legal action and investigations were underway.
