ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned the superintendent of Adiala jail today (Wednesday) in a case regarding meetings between Bushra Bibi and her family as well as her personal physician.

The court has also issued notices to superintendent of Adiala jail and Inspector General of Prisons Punjab, seeking their responses.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir issued the hearing order on a petition filed by Bushra Bibi’s daughter, Mubashira. In the written order, the court said the petition requests immediate family meeting and at least one meeting per week with Bushra Bibi.

It also seeks permission for her to meet her personal doctor and for immediate provision of clothes and other essential items.

According to the petitioner’s lawyer, a representation had been submitted to the superintendent of Adiala jail, but no decision was made. The court directed the superintendent issue a speaking order on the representation before the next hearing and appear before the court on May 6 (today). Notices have been issued to the parties to submit their replies on the matter.
