ISLAMABAD: A high-profile kidnapping ended in tragedy this week after the body of a young entrepreneur, identified as Fakhar Afzal, was recovered following his abduction from the capital’s upscale F-6 Sector.
Afzal was reportedly overpowered by unidentified individuals in the heart of Islamabad and forcibly transported to Mardan. Following an intensive search operation, authorities discovered his remains dumped along the motorway. Upon receiving actionable intelligence, a specialized unit from the Islamabad Police deployed to the Shahbaz Garhi area of Mardan to secure the scene and coordinate with local law enforcement.
While the investigation is in its early stages, police sources indicate that the primary motive appears to be a protracted business dispute. “We are currently exploring all leads, but initial evidence suggests the victim was targeted specifically due to professional conflicts,” stated a senior official familiar with the case.
Late last night, police successfully transported the victim’s body back to Islamabad for a postmortem examination. A formal investigation has been launched by the Islamabad Police, Forensic teams are analyzing digital footprints and CCTV footage from the F-6 area.
No suspects have been taken into custody yet, but raids are reportedly being conducted across provincial lines to apprehend the perpetrators. Authorities have vowed to bring the culprits to justice, as the incident has sparked renewed concerns regarding security in the capital’s high-security zones.
