ISLAMABAD: The Integrity Management Cell of the Federal Board of Revenue received a significant number of complaints against senior officers and officials.
According to an official report, a total of 227 complaints have been lodged against senior officers and officials of the FBR since July 2023. Of these, 114 complaints were filed against officers of the Pakistan Customs Service, while 113 were against officers of the Inland Revenue Service.
Since July 2023, 56 senior FBR officers have been found guilty and penalised. Among officers of the Pakistan Customs Service, 45 were found guilty and punished, while investigations continue against 22 officers, and inquiries against 47 officers have been closed.
In the Inland Revenue Service, nine officers were found guilty and penalised. Investigations are under way against 33 officers, while inquiries against 71 officers have been closed.
The Integrity Management Cell was established to receive complaints, conduct inquiries and take disciplinary action against FBR officers, where required.
