QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti held an important meeting with the Chairman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, at his residence in Islamabad. The two leaders discussed in detail the overall political situation in Balochistan, law and order, and recent developments in the province.

During the meeting, they also exchanged views on maintaining peace and stability in the province, promoting political harmony, and addressing various public and administrative matters. Issues related to madrassas that emerged in recent days were also discussed, and both sides agreed that all matters would be resolved through mutual understanding and meaningful dialogue.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that the Government of Balochistan would continue its engagement with all political and religious parties to promote sustainable peace, tolerance, and a culture of dialogue in the province. He added that political harmony and cooperation are essential in the public interest of Balochistan.

It was also agreed that such contacts would continue in the future to ensure timely and peaceful resolution of any emerging issues. The chief minister is also scheduled to meet the provincial leadership of JUI-F in Quetta. Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Maulana Salahuddin Ayubi, and Asad Mahmood were also present during the meeting.

It should also be noted that JUI-F Balochistan has announced a province-wide shutter-down strike and protest rallies on May 6 against government raids on madrassas, and this meeting is in the context of those developments.
