LAHORE : Foolproof security arrangements were ensured in Lahore on the occasion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 final match.
Police officers and personnel provided comprehensive security to local and foreign players, officials, and cricket fans, while more than 7,000 police officers and personnel performed security duties during the match.
IG Abdul Kareem directed supervisory officers to personally review all arrangements, including security and traffic management, while police personnel deployed at duty points remained on high alert and kept a vigilant eye on suspicious activities.
The IG said that complete coordination was maintained with the district administration, security agencies, and other relevant departments to ensure the peaceful conduct of the PSL event. On the directions of the IG, teams of Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU), and Elite Force ensured effective patrolling around the teams’ routes and Gaddafi Stadium.
The IG said traffic advisories were also issued to guide citizens and ensure smooth traffic flow.
Meanwhile, the Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) ensured comprehensive cleanliness arrangements at Gaddafi Stadium.
Under the directives of SPAL Director General Babar Sahib Din, cleaning operational teams carried out extensive cleaning and washing operations at the stadium and its surrounding areas prior to the final match.
More than 250 sanitation workers and 8 washer vehicles remained deployed during the matches to ensure uninterrupted cleanliness operations.
According to SPAL officials, Gaddafi Stadium was declared a ‘zero-waste zone’ during the grand cricket event.
