LAHORE: Cambridge International Education (CIE) has acknowledged that its AS Level Mathematics Paper 12 for the June 2026 series was shared prematurely.
The CIE said it was investigating the matter thoroughly to determine the extent of the leak and to decide on next steps. In its official statement, Cambridge emphasised that its priority is to protect the integrity of the exams and ensure students are not disadvantaged.
It assured candidates that grades will remain reliable and trusted by universities worldwide. The board also noted that sanctions will be imposed where malpractice is proven. A further update is scheduled for May 7. The incident has sparked widespread concern among students and parents in Pakistan, where Cambridge exams are a key pathway to higher education. Reports suggest that the paper was circulating online. Students and teachers expressed frustration, saying months of preparation now feel undermined.
