LAHORE: A police employee has been arrested in Shahdara after being accused of raping his daughter-in-law.
The case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s parents against the suspect, identified as Ramzan. According to the FIR, the woman was married to the accused’s son five years ago and is a mother of two daughters.
The complaint alleges that the suspect, who was serving as clerical staff in the Special Branch, had been harassing the woman for an extended period.
The victim told investigators that he allegedly threatened her with false cases against her father and brothers if she disclosed the abuse.
Police officials said the accused has been taken into custody following the registration of the case, and further investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
