MANSEHRA: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hazara Range, Nasir Mehmood Satti on Saturday said that tourism was the backbone of the division and urged traffic wardens to warmly welcome visitors travelling to scenic destinations.
“In pursuance of the vision of Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, we have established facilitation centres and equipped traffic police with modern gadgets, as well as trained them in proper conduct, as they are the face of the department,” he said while speaking at a ceremony here.
Superintendents of traffic police from Mansehra, Battagram, Haripur, and Abbottabad attended the programme.
The DIG said that police had already been directed to be courteous and welcoming towards citizens at police stations, facilitation centres, and on roads.
“Tourists from across the country and abroad visit Nathiagali, Ayubia, Kaghan Valley, Siran Valley and other natural attractions in the division, and traffic police should guide and assist them with utmost sincerity to make their journey hassle-free,” he added.
He maintained that a positive and welcoming attitude by the traffic police would help build a good image of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, as visitors from all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and abroad throng the region to enjoy its scenic beauty.
The DIG also visited stalls displaying various equipment, machines, and gadgets at the event and appreciated the efforts of the respective departments.
Satti also awarded a certificate of appreciation to outgoing SP Traffic Mansehra, Shahzadi Noshad Gillani, for her outstanding performance during her tenure in Hazara Police.
