Drone ban extended for one month

LAHORE:The Punjab government has extended the implementation of Section 144 for flying drones for one more month throughout the Punjab.

According to a statement by the Punjab Home Department, a complete ban on flying drones in open air remains in place across the province. The ban on flying outdoor drones under Section 144 has been extended by 30 days.

The Punjab government has banned the use of drones in view of security concerns. The ban on flying drones across Punjab will be in effect until May 25.According to the statement, limited use of small drones was allowed during events inside halls and marquees. The responsibility for the safe use of drones in indoor events will lie with the organisers, while intelligence and law enforcement agencies were exempt from the ban.The home department said that public safety, maintenance of law and order, and protection of property are the top priorities of the government.
