Rawalpindi : Police have arrested two suspects accused of brutally assaulting a citizen, stripping him, and dragging him on a public road in the Banni area here on Saturday.
The arrests were made after a disturbing video of the incident surfaced on social media, prompting swift action by the police.
According to a police spokesperson, Banni Police registered a case on their own complaint soon after the footage went viral.
The First Information Report (FIR) states that the detained suspects, along with several accomplices, allegedly subjected the victim to severe violence before stripping him and dragging him onto a public roadway, causing humiliation and distress.
Police said the suspects were traced and apprehended using a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence.
Raids are ongoing to arrest the other individuals involved in the incident.
Superintendent of Police (Rawal), Saad Arshad, praised the police team for their prompt response and professionalism.
