Islamabad : Four members of a family, including a woman and a child, were shot dead in the early hours of Saturday in Changhar Mohallah, Jhangi Syedan, within the jurisdiction of Noon Police Station.
Police stated that statements of the security guard who reported the incident, as well as local residents, have been recorded. Investigations are ongoing from multiple angles, including analysis of CCTV footage, mobile phone records, and the victims’ personal connections, in an effort to trace the perpetrators at the earliest.
Officials described the nature of the crime as extremely serious and confirmed that a special team has been constituted to uncover the facts swiftly.
The victims have identified as Mullakhail son of Sardar, his wife Shamim Bibi, 12-year-old Mosam Khan and Habib Majid Gul (a security guard).
Authorities have formally launched a high-level investigation into the quadruple homicide after a heavy police contingent cordoned off the crime scene to preserve forensic integrity. Initial findings from the site suggest a grim and methodical execution; all four victims sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the head, leading investigators to suspect a targeted attack or a deeply rooted personal vendetta. One of the deceased has been identified as Habib-ur-Rehman, a local security guard who resided at the premises with his family. While the identities of the remaining three victims are being finalised, they are believed to be his immediate kin.
The forensic and specialised units of the capital police have begun a comprehensive sweep for evidence, collecting spent casings and recording statements from the security guard who first reported the incident. The bodies have been shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination as part of the legal proceedings.
Senior officials have described the nature of the crime as exceptionally serious, confirming that a dedicated task force has been constituted to pursue the perpetrators through the analysis of CCTV footage, mobile data, and the victims' personal connections.
