A sessions court has dismissed the bail application of two suspects in a robbery case. Imran and Asjad were booked and arrested by the Darakhshan police for allegedly snatching a mobile phone and cash from a citizen in Defence Housing Authority last month.
After hearing both the prosecution and defence sides, the additional sessions judge (South) dismissed the bail plea of the suspects, ruling that they were not entitled to the concession of the bail at this stage.
According to the prosecution, on March 27, a patrolling team of the Darakhshan police apprehended the suspects riding a motorcycle. An unlicensed pistol along with cash and mobiles phones was recovered from their possession, it said.
The prosecution alleged that the suspects were habitual street criminals involved in robberies in different parts of the city. During interrogation, they admitted that they had snatched cash and a mobile phone from a citizen that night, it added.
An FIR was lodged at the Darakhshan police station under the sections 397 (robbery or dacoity with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
