Another boy injured in dog attack

LAHORE : A nine-year old boy was severely injured after being attacked by a pet dog in Satokatla area here on Tuesday.

The child sustained deep injuries to his abdomen and back after the dog mauled him, leaving him bleeding. He was shifted to hospital.

Police said they responded promptly to an emergency call and brought the situation under control. A case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s father, Muhammad Ejaz, and the dog’s owner, identified as Usman Ali, was arrested.

Authorities said legal action has been initiated against the suspect for negligence, while further investigation has been handed over to the investigation wing.

The incidents of dog bite across Punjab have reached an alarming level, with over 514,589 cases reported in the province between January 2024 and March 2026. In Lahore alone, 18,514 people were reported bitten by dogs in that period.

Two held after torture video surfaces

Raiwind police have registered a case and arrested two suspects after a video surfaced on social media showing a citizen being tortured.

The incident occurred in the Jia Bagga outpost area, where Usman was allegedly forced into a humiliating position and beaten inside a gym. The victim alleged that the suspects also forced him to sign cheques and transferred money using his mobile phone. Police registered a case against Ghulam Rasool, Ghulam Nabi, Abrar, and Nauman. Ghulam Rasool and Abrar have been arrested.

Bus conductor held for assaulting girl

Police have arrested a conductor of a government Speedo bus after a video showing him allegedly assaulting a young girl went viral on social media.

The incident occurred near LDA Stop on Raiwind Road in the Chuhng area. According to officials, staff of the bus allegedly subjected the girl to violence during the journey.

The episode, recorded by bystanders near Jia Bagga stop, later circulated widely online. Taking notice, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran ordered immediate action. Chuhng police traced and arrested the conductor and booked him.

Man arrested for killing wife

Shahdara Investigation Police have arrested a man accused of killing his schoolteacher wife a few days ago in the Shahdara area.

According to a police spokesperson, taking notice of the case, DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza assigned a police team to arrest the suspect.

The Shahdara Investigation Police conducted an operation and apprehended the accused.

Police stated that the suspect had opened fire on his wife over a domestic dispute, killing her before fleeing the scene.

Meanwhile, in another incident, Kahna police arrested a man accused of killing his wife, a mother of five, by slitting her throat.

The victim, identified as Saima Bibi, was a resident of Sadhoke village. Authorities said the couple had a history of domestic disputes. Investigators revealed that the suspect, Asif, allegedly murdered his wife with the help of an accomplice about a week ago before fleeing the scene.

Police said the accused was traced and arrested during an intelligence-based operation in Sahiwal district.
