LAHORE: Hot but partly cloudy weather continued to prevail in the provincial capital here on Monday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.

The average AQI of the city was 80, which fell in the category of moderate while the PM2.5 concentration was 3.8 times the World Health Organisation annual PM2.5 guideline value.Met officials said the heat wave continued in Lahore city and the temperature was likely to increase further. They added the minimum temperature in the city was 22°C while the maximum was 37°C.

The officials said the weather was likely to remain dry and hot in the coming days as well. They maintained that there was no possibility of rain in the city yet, which was likely to continue the intensity of the heat. The humidity ratio in the air has reached 27 percent while the wind speed has been recorded at 8 kilometers per hour.Citizens have been instructed to avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun and use more water to protect themselves from the effects of heat.
