Talking about child abuse has become more urgent than ever, yet it still remains a sensitive and often avoided topic in Pakistan. Many people hesitate to openly discuss it. This silence creates space for offenders to act without fear, knowing that cases may remain hidden or unreported. One important approach is to educate children about personal safety. In many countries, basic awareness about inappropriate behaviour and self-protection is included in school curricula. Pakistan also needs to adopt such measures. Parents must also play a stronger role. Open communication within families can help children feel safe and supported.
Another major concern is the capacity of law enforcement. There is a need to improve the training and resources of the police so they can handle such sensitive cases properly. Better investigation methods, child protection units and a more professional approach can make a real difference. Alongside this, strict implementation of existing laws is essential so that offenders are punished and justice is visible.
