A school van was completely destroyed after it caught fire in Paposh Nagar. The driver also suffered minor injuries in the incident, which occurred within the limits of the Paposh Nagar police station in Sector 5-C.
The school van parked in a street near an ice cream shop suddenly caught fire. As the flames erupted, the driver and local residents gathered at the scene and attempted to extinguish the flames on their own.
Fire brigade officials were called in and managed to bring the blaze under control. However, the van was completely gutted. A nearby parked car was also damaged due to the fire. During efforts to douse the flames, the van driver suffered minor burn injuries.
Police said the van was parked in the street at the time of the incident and no children were inside. The exact cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained.
