The development work at Zero Point on the Hub Canal has been successfully completed, a spokesperson for the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) said on Monday.

Following the completion of the project, the water supply to District West and District Keamari has been formally restored through the Hub Pumping Station. According to the KWSC official, an intake chamber has been constructed at Zero Point on the Hub Canal to effectively connect the upstream with the downstream. With the completion of this key infrastructure, both the old and new canals at Zero Point have now been linked to the Hub Dam, further strengthening and stabilising the water transmission system.

Moreover, the project is expected to significantly improve water supply, particularly in the areas of District West and Keamari. The initiative will not only enhance water availability but also help reduce technical issues faced during transmission.

The KWSC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring improved, consistent and uninterrupted water supply to citizens, stating that reform and development initiatives will continue in the future.
