HYDERABAD: Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zain-ul-Abedin Memon formally inaugurated a seven-day polio eradication campaign at the CDF Hospital, marking the start of an intensive drive to vaccinate children across the district.
A representative of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Michael Gallaway, attended the ceremony and reviewed the ongoing campaign activities. He appreciated the planning, preparedness, and overall strategy adopted by the district administration for the polio drive.
During the visit, the international observer emphasized the importance of strengthening the reporting and tracking system, particularly for refusal, missed, and absent cases, to ensure complete coverage and effectiveness of the campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner directed all officials to ensure that every child under the age of five was vaccinated without exception. He stressed that special attention must be given to missed and refusal cases to achieve 100 percent immunization. He further stated that Hyderabad is playing an active role in global efforts to eradicate polio and underscored the need for enhanced field mobilization to ensure the successful implementation of the campaign.
