The Karachi Press Club and the Karachi Union of Journalists expressed grief over the sad demise of senior journalist Shamim Akhtar.
Shamim Akhtar, who former editor of AKhbar-e-Khawatan, passed away on Sunday and her funeral prayers were offered at Masjid-e-Ali in DHA Phase VI.
Issuing condolences messages, the KPC and KUJ office-bearers said that Shamim Akhtar’s professional career was a beacon of light for the new generation, especially women journalists. They said that services of the deceased would always be remembered. They prayed that Allah would grant the deceased a high place in paradise and bestow patience upon the family.
