US President Donald Trump’s statement against Pope Leo XIV is condemnable and unacceptable. Trump’s statement comes at a time when his popularity is at a historic low and, due to his massive failure in the war against Iran, he is frustrated. Since Trump needs to permanently end the Iran war and save face, he should focus on these talks. I do not know why this statement against the Pope was even necessary. Whatever Pope Leo has said is his moral obligation. His stance is very clear: world peace should prevail. What is wrong with what he has said? If he opposes war, bloodshed and destruction, he is only speaking for us all. Trump should apologise to Pope Leo and take back his statement.
