Indian Sikh yatrees arrive in City

LAHORE:Sikh yatrees from India arrived here in City through the Wagah Border to participate in the 327th International Baisakhi Festival (Khalsa Janam Din), receiving a warm welcome from Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora.

The Punjab government, under the direction of CM Maryam Nawaz, arranged facilities, including transport, medical services and security. The visitors were transported to Gurdwara Janam Asthan.They will visit key religious sites, including Gurdwara Panja Sahib, where the main ceremony will be held on April 14. Speaking at the border, Arora welcomed them and appreciated the support of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to religious harmony and facilitation for minorities.

Meanwhile, Lahore Police have finalised strict security arrangements for Sikh yatrees, CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana said.According to the CCPO, police have been placed on high alert across Lahore, with enhanced security deployed at gurdwaras and residential locations designated for them. He directed supervisory officers to ensure full implementation of SOPs to maintain a secure environment.
