LAHORE:Political and diplomatic circles have hailed Pakistani leadership for playing a pivotal role in ceasefire between Iran and USA.
‘Thank you Pakistan for the quiet, effective, diplomatic role you have played in bringing about this vital ceasefire’ said Jane Marriott, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan in her statement over the development.
Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan lauded the role of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, in effective diplomatic efforts that contributed to the ceasefire between Iran and America. He stated that rising tensions in the region had caused serious global concern, with fears that the conflict could escalate into a wider confrontation. However, Pakistan played a responsible, prudent, and constructive role in this critical situation.
The speaker said that Pakistan’s leadership has received widespread appreciation for this diplomatic success. He emphasised that lasting peace in the Middle East is essential, and it must be ensured alongside the protection of the rights and sovereignty of all countries in the region. MPA Ghazali Saleem Butt on Wednesday submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly hailing civil and military leadership for achieving this milestone. He lauded the leadership for playing a key role in easing the tension between the two countries.
Lahore PPP President Faisal Mir has declared that Pakistani leadership played a pivotal and decisive role in brokering the ceasefire between Iran and the United States. He made these remarks while addressing a gathering of labourers and rickshaw union members outside the Punjab Assembly, where PPP leader Majid Ghouri was also present.
Faisal Mir stated that the ceasefire between Iran and the United States was achieved as a direct result of the tireless diplomatic efforts of the coalition government, describing it as a momentous piece of good news for the entire world. He said President Asif Ali Zardari, in his capacity as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, demonstrated farsighted and wise leadership that saved the world from a devastating and catastrophic war.
He also credited Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir's strategic thinking and PM Shehbaz Sharif's diplomatic vision. He demanded President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Asim Munir be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of their extraordinary services to humanity. Faisal Mir also paid tribute to PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, saying that the foreign policy framework he laid down was carried forward with full dedication and wisdom by PM Shehbaz Sharif. Provincial Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin also praised the efforts of PM Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy PM Ishaq Dar and the CDF Asim Munir.
